This hand painted wooden ornament is based on the beautiful floral designs and motifs found at Makenis Monastery located in the Geghargunik Province of Armenia, and which dates back to the 9th-13th centuries.
The ornaments are produced at the Koghb Art School in Armenia by eight artisans from the local area.

After graduating from university in Yerevan, Anna Nasibyan returned to Koghb, a border village in the Tavush province in Armenia. She started to teach painting at a local art school and then founded the Yeregnuk Handicraft Group with Arusyak Pashikyan and Satenik Dulijanyan. The Group consists of eight core artisans.
